Here's looking at you!

Well today was pretty great, even if we haven't left on the trip yet! :) I have been at Becca's house today. Carolyn and I went to visit Uncle Justin. We had a very nice visit with him. He is quite the character, and made delicious chocolate brownies! Apparently he is quite the baker, which played to our advantage. We visited with him and Carreen and were able to meet Carreen's daughter and their twin grandchildren. I am so grateful we could stop in.

After visiting with Justin and Carreen, Carolyn and I came back to pick up Becca so we could head to the temple, which was quite the adventure. We planned to attend the Jordan River Temple. We got lost getting there, and to our dismay the parking lot was completely packed. It's a big parking lot too! We decided to try our luck with the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Again, we got lost on the way there. Apparently there has been quite a bit of housing development since Becca was there last, but that's ok :) We finally arrived, and again to our dismay, we were let down. The temple was closed! Such seems to be our luck so far with the trip that hasn't even started...

We decided not to give up (that would be our Holdaway blood coming through!) and go back to the Jordan River Temple to try our luck again. We finally found a parking spot...hooray! We went into the temple and had a wonderful experience together. It was awesome being there with my aunt and my cousin. My mom's spirit was very strong, which was a peaceful experience. Becca had a pretty cool experience....hopefully she doesn't mind me sharing, as she is currently asleep for the night. But since it pertains to our trip, I'm going to share anyway. Sorry Becca! :)

She had left a few minutes before Carolyn and I to head back to the dressing room. Carolyn and I left a bit later and found her sitting in the hallway alone, looking a bit distressed. I told her she looked a little creepy but that's ok :) She explained that as she was coming down the escalator she had a very strong feeling that someone was behind her. She looked, but alas no one was there. The feeling was so strong that she had to sit down. She told us on the way home that she felt that it was either my mom, Darlene, or Mary Trent, who was the wife of Our Timothy Holdaway. We felt it would be the perfect way to begin this journey. What better way than to have those on the other side of the veil helping us and letting us know they are with us throughout this process!!

Below you will find some funny and not so funny pictures from the day! Enjoy :)

This is Becca's "Of course this would be happening" look after arriving at the Oquirrh Mtn. Temple only to discover it was closed.
